The Tanum Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Congregation,
the first Lutheran Congregation in Door County, was
organized in 1872.
The first church and parsonage was a log building located
400 feet west of here.
In 1883 a new church was built east of this marker.
In 1973, as a result of a merge, the new congregation was
named Tanum Forest Ev.Lutheran Congregation.
