George H. Barr Building 1948
127 W. Main Street
The marker is affixed to the facade, to the left of the entrance.
The Barr Building was built as a meat market and it is one of the newest buildings on Main Street. Still, while it is almost fifty years newer than its neighbor to the right, the same general elements and materials were used in its design. Vertical brick pilaster strips define the edges of the façade, a tall brick parapet wall crowns it, and a symmetrical storefront with an insert centered entrance occupies almost the entire ground story of the street front. The building is located within the Omro Downtown Historic District.
The George H. Barr Building is accessible from westbound West Main Street, at its intersection with South Webster Avenue, at or near 127 West Main Street, Omro, Wisconsin 54963.
