Located on Hickory Road several miles southwest of the city, Willow Lawn School was one of the earliest one room schools in this county. The building has survived a century of remodeling and additions.

The building was closed in 1963 when the state consolidated the rural schools. The double desks were used in the Oakfield district [sic] and the books were donated by many interested people. The collection of pictures pertains to the history of education in this county.
The marker and building are located at the Historic Galloway House & Village at 336 Old Pioneer Road, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin 54935.
