This perfectly proportioned building is in Greek Revival style of architecture, a style popular in the middle 19th century.

John O. Griffith built this office for his lumber company on Forest Ave. at Tallmadge St. Later the building was moved by flat car to Hamilton Hill, four miles south of the city, where it became the office for Western Line and Cement Co. The deserted structure was given to the Society in 1965 and was moved to the museum to be restored.

Interior work and exhibits were donated by Mr. & Mrs. Ray Thornton.
The marker and building are located at the Historic Galloway House & Village at 336 Old Pioneer Road, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin 54935.
