This black cement slab covers the tomb of Father Charles Francis Xavier Goldsmith -- the pioneer priest who first conceived the plans for this memorial chapel, and whose estate provided a portion of the funds for building it.
The marker is located inside the Goldsmith Chapel on eastbound Allen Street, between South High Street (to the west) and South Prairie Street (to the east), at 123 Allen Street, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin 54729.

NOTE: The Goldsmith Chapel is a "perpetual prayer" location. It was only serendipity that at the time of my visit the chapel was empty and I was able to take photographs -- a rare opportunity indeed!

The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places: Wisconsin.

See also, Goldsmith Memorial Chapel Stained Glass Windows, also at this location.

The referenced black slab is visible beneath the red carpet.
