in war and in peace

The memorial is located in downtown Black Creek and is accessible from northbound North Main Street, between East Railroad Street (to the south) and Oak Street (to the north), at or near 212 North Main Street, Black Creek, Wisconsin 54106.

This memorial was so new at the time of my visit that it had not yet been dedicated!

Carla was there when I arrived; she came to see her father's
name on the memorial. Her father came home from the war,
and lived to be 88 years old.
