The memorial is located at Veterans Memorial Park and is accessible from northbound South Main Street / U.S. Route 14/61, at its intersection with East Terhune Street, Viroqua, Wisconsin 54665.

- Memorial cost $182,000, all by donation
- About 1,200 attended the dedication ceremonies
- Dedication speaker was Colonel Mark Lee, "a Viroqua native, retired Air Force officer and NASA astronaut
- The event included a "fly-over by jet aircraft from the 115th Fighter Wing based at Volk Field near Madison"
