This monument depicts a Union Soldier of the Civil War Era, 1861 to 1865. It was donated by Sarah Clark Lord in Memory of her husband, Dr. Osborne Green Lord.

Dr. Lord came to Kaukauna from the State of Maine in 1872 and practiced medicine here for 42 years, until his death in 1914.

Dedicated on May 30, 1918, the statue was presented to Kaukauna's Paul J. Beaulieu Post 247, Grand Army of the Republic, which consisted of Civil War veterans.

The Civil War memorial is located in a small park at the intersections of Taylor Street / Wisconsin Highway 96, Lawe Street / Wisconsin Highway 96, and Catherine Street, Kaukauna, Wisconsin 54l30.
