This memorial tree is dedicated
on behalf of the student body of
Maranatha Baptist University to
Corporal Matthew Zindars
who sacrificed his life July 24, 2007 while
serving in Iraq for the cause of freedom.
"Great love hath no man than this."

The Corporal Metthew Zindars Memorial Tree is located at Veterans Memorial Park inside the city block of Wisconsin Street, South 4th Street, East Milwaukee Street, and South 3rd Street, Watertown, Wisconsin 53094.

Corporal Zindars was killed on his second tour of duty in Iraq. He volunteered to return because he believed "his friends needed him". He was 21 years old when he was killed by a roadside bomb. Corporal Zindars was awarded a Purple Heart for his service.

The plaque is visible at the base of the tree.





The Corporal Metthew Zindars Memorial Tree is located
adjacent to the Watertown Civil War Memorial.
