 Photographed June 6, 2015
Erected by Service Star Legion Milwaukee Chapter
Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin

The memorial is located at Milwaukee's Court of Honor, an island in the center of West Wisconsin Avenue, at its T-intersection intersection with 9th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53233.

NOTE: There is plenty of metered parking on 9th Street to access the marker.

The Milwaukee Chapter of the Service Star Legion was organized in 1921. The group was organized to do "patriotic work" and were "brought into existence as a direct result of the storm and stress of war . . . for the women who lived through the long days of dread and anxiety, who with valiant courage bade goodbye and God speed to the boys, but who dared not look into the future, must have a sympathy and understanding and a desire to be of service and the opportunity to render service is open to them through the work in these [Service Star Legion] chapters".

The marker is directly behind the George Washington Statue.
