Wikipedia: Big Blue Crane Collapse
Iron workers Jeffrey A. Wiseher, William R. DeGrave and Jerome W. Starr were killed July 14, 1999, at approximately 5:12 p.m., when the suspended personnel platform from which they were observing the lift was hit by a collapsing crane. The widows of the worker settled a lawsuit against crane-maker Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of America for $57 million. Attorney Robert L. Habush represented two of the widows in their suit.

PERSONAL OBSERVATION / COMMENTARY -- it's amazing that the widows of two most likely well-paid construction workers were awarded tens of millions of dollars for their husbands' deaths -- but the widows and families of our American soldiers, killed while in defense of the freedoms we most certainly take for granted, get nada, zip, zero, NOTHING!! And while I am certainly sorry for the women who lost their husbands, this memorial and the money behind it makes me want to retch!!!
