ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SIGNIFICANCE

Buildings designed in the true French Provincial style are very rare in Green Bay, there being only one on the west side of the city, and this house on the east side. While simple in design, this fine house has the steeply pitched hip roof, exaggerated chimney mass, and segmental arched style. In addition, the use of stucco walls and sober appearance in keeping with the historic antecedents of this style, and also with the aspirations of its owners. Home was completely restored in 2008. Original doors and fixtures remain; upstairs bathroom tile floor, toilet, sink, and bathtub remain intact. Wall between dining room and kitchen removed, along with the movement of lead glass built-in cabinets to the opposite wall in the dining room.
