The last of a group of Indian Mounds formerly located on a Stone Age village site near this spot and destroyed in recent years. Several were of larger size. Also the last of many fine groups of burial, linear, and animal shaped mounds formerly located within the present limits of the City of Milwaukee.

Marked by Board of Park Commissioners at request of The Wisconsin Archeological Society.
The marker is located adjacent to the Oak Leaf Trial in Lake Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53211.

NOTE: Use photos below and GPS coordinates above to find the very small marker in the middle of the park. The parking lot is located on northbound North Lake Drive / Wisconsin Route 32, at its T-intersection with East Locust Street. Park and then walk southbound about 100 yards on Oak Leaf Trail. The small marker is atop an obvious knoll on your left.

The marker is adjacent to the back of the baseball diamond.
