The Cedar Lake Yacht Club was founded in 1899 and is situated on Big Cedar Lake, the largest lake in Washington County. Although there have been many renovations and additions, the original field stone structure still stands.

The Cedar Lake Yacht Club’s goal was and still is to promote organized sailing. The rich history and long standing traditions have been a major attraction to sailors throughout time.

Skippers, ranging from young children to seasoned sailors dating back to the time of vintage sailboats, enjoy the sport of sailing.
The marker is located at Cedar Lake Yacht Club at the east end of Yacht Club Drive, west of its intersection with Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive / Wisconsin Highway 144, at 4719 Yacht Club Drive, Hartford, Wisconsin 53027.

NOTE: At the time of my visit the property was torn apart and under construction. According to the Cedar Lake Yacht Club website, the construction is of a new addition to the building. It is possible the marker may be moved once the new addition is completed.

The marker is No. 09-002 in a series of markers placed by the Washington County Landmarks Commission.

The marker is visible to the right of the entrance, below the window.

 The entire building.

Very nice view of Big Cedar Lake from this location.

It's possible this marker is normally off limits,
based on this "members only please" sign.
