WEYWAUWEGA HISTORICAL MURAL
Indian wife of Mr. Tourtelott who cut down trees to develope [sic] Main
Street, oversees the past she once knew. Thier [sic] bones lie in the

Eagles still circulate [sic] Lake Weyauwega.
CIVIL WAR STATUE
On South Mill St., the Weyauwega area sent the first military
regiment to the Civil War from Wisconsin.
The American Flag Honors all Veterans.
All community churches represent our city's Christian character.
St. Peter is a landmark seen from Hwy. 10, from across the lake,
and at the end of three streets. It's also on the Yellowstone Trail.
LA DOE HOUSE
The original hotel, burned in 18 8 [sic], replaced by A.L. Hutchinsin. In the Mid [sic] 1900's
it featured a French Chef, and housed the [sic] American League football team,
the Milwaukee Chiefs, each year for three weeks [sic] practice at the fair grounds.
In the mid [sic] 1900's, each weekend the Soo Line offered a round trip from Chicago
to Weyauwega, to fish the lake and Gills Landing. Cost: $5.00
WIGWAM GAS STATION
Original design built in 1929, on west [sic] Main. st. [sic]
GERALD GEORGE OPERA HOUSE
Built in 1915, hosted speakers such as John F. Kennedy,
Dwight D. Eisenhower and Paul Harvey. It was also used
for operas, plays, movies, high school graduations, indoor
circus tricks and more.
BRIDGE AND MILL
Built in 1855, the bridge was the first to cross the Waupaca River.
The rye mill was the first one built in the USA, and is the
largest in the world.
HORSE AND BUGGY
Weyauwega's Horse and Buddy Days Annual Celebration, since 1960.
