CURTIS MEMORIAL
SCIENTIFIC AREA
John Thomas Curtis
1913-1961

Professor of Botany
at the University of Wisconsin.
Noted ecologist and outstanding authority
on the vegetation of Wisconsin.
A founder of the Wisconsin State Board
for the Preservation of Scientific Areas,
and its first chairman, 1952-1955.

The marker is located on northbound State Park Lane in Wyalusing State Park, at the east end of the Wisconsin Ridge campground area. The park entrance is located at 13081 State Park Lane, Bagley, Wisconsin 53801.

NOTE: The marker is located inside a Wisconsin State Park and requires an annual sticker or daily-use fee to enter.
