Vice Admiral James H. Flatley, Jr. ("Reaper Leader") Statue and Memorial

The statue and marker are located along the Fox River Trail at Admiral Flatley Park, at the end of Crooks Street, just west of its intersection with West Washington Street, Green Bay, Wisconsin 54301. Crooks Street ends at a cul de sac, next to the Fox Harbor Pub & Grill (on the northwest corner of Crooks and West Washington Streets); there is plenty of parking, and there is an entrance to the Fox River Trail. The statue is impossible to miss.

Then LCDR (later VADM) James H. "Jimmy" Flatley Jr.

This man was my grandfather. Never got to meet him, but excellent to see what you displayed. I know that he was an amazing leader! His wife, my grandmother passed away a few years ago at 100 years old. She never remarried after his death.

Thank you, Brian, for your comments. Yes, your grandfather was amazing! Green Bay is very proud of its native son. It's one of the nicest memorials in the area. I wonder if you also saw the monument erected by Victor J. McCormick, at the entrance to the park. I should have cross-referenced these two memorials . . . I'll do it now:
